Hi, I’m Amy Morgan.
I’m a creator based in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Not too long ago during a heartfelt conversation with an old friend, she told me “Amy, you were put here to create.” I’d just lost my job and felt like a rudderless ship. But when I heard that, I started to shift my perspective. Sure, I’ve been a professional graphic designer for more than fifteen years. I’ve had a lot of fun doing it—if getting my own World Series ring isn’t fun, I don’t know what is. But my job doesn’t reflect all of my passions and pursuits: I’m also a writer, an illustrator, an [aspiring] interior designer, a fitness instructor, a yoga student, and a soon-to-be yoga instructor.
Why do I call myself a creator instead of a creative? Because to me, a creative is a kind of job. Being a creator means exploring ideas and making something that didn’t exist before. That’s it. There are so many ways to be creative. So yes, I’m still a designer, and I still enjoy building brands and styling visual campaigns. That’s just not all I have to offer.
So, take a look around. I hope you leave inspired.
Why are you here?
Honestly, why are any of us here?
But, you know, without sending either of us down one of those existential rabbit holes usually reserved for late nights and deep conversations, I truly hope you send a note to say hello!
Maybe you want to work together. Maybe you’re interested in my writing. Maybe you’re into barre and yoga and want to know when I’ll be teaching next. Maybe you want to know my in-the-moment reactions to whatever TV show I’m watching at the moment. But wait, if that’s the case, did my best friend Renn send you? Is she tired of all my Twin Peaks text updates? Sigh.
Anyway, whatever the reason, I’m glad you’re here.
